The Beginning
The experience of Being Me (You). I exist.
I appear to have come into being at a specific moment in time, as the result of the actions of two other humans.
There is a great deal of certainty about how I began.

The certainty of belief about how a human comes into existence has always been there for humans, with varying degrees of understanding and confidence. Throughout all of history, in some form or another, humans have known how they individually began.
Obviously, I came from inside a female. In addition, my existence, and that of any human, only occurred after a relationship between a female and a male human being.
I am unique, the offspring of a specific woman and man, in union at a specific point in time.
The historical understanding or account of my uniqueness is found in the understanding of how different siblings are the result of the same parents, in a different moment in time. Historically this may have a wider and more uncertain accounting. The modern understanding is the story of DNA and the analysis arising from scientific study of reproduction.

That is Life! That is me! That is you!

You are the I in this story.
I am the result of a specific egg, from a specific woman, and a specific seed from a specific man. The egg and the seed each contributed half a piece of DNA, which recombined to create a single cell, which is me. I started from a single new strand of DNA in a single, new cell.
You are the I in this story. All the same things are true about you. You exist. You came into being from two pieces of DNA which recombined to form your first cell. I was once just one cell. You were once just one cell.
Every human was once just one cell. Every human who was, is and will be, once was just one cell. That is the story which is absolutely certain. It has always been the case, and in the modern era, has taken on a new level of certainty.

Sure, maybe, somehow, I existed before the event or the creation of my DNA.
Maybe I will endure after this body of mine, made up of cells from this first cell, ceases to function as it currently functions. Maybe the same is true for you.
What is certain, is that I exist, and came to be at the moment of conception, or the joining of two specific halves of the DNA strands from my parents.
This story of how I came into being, which throughout all of time seemed to carry a high level of truth, has, in the modern era, acquired validation at a new level of certainty.
